Processions | Dazzle Banner, 2018
In 2018 I was one of 100 women artists asked to create a banner for Processions 2018. Working with Made in Roath in Cardiff, we created a sculptural banner reflecting the prow of a ship. Inspired by the designs of WW1 dazzle ships (painted by women at the RCA), armour and camouflage, we worked together to create a striking banner which we processed through Cardiff on 10 June 2018. We accessorised with our homemade cardboard armour, which was a nod to that which women attending suffrage protests sometimes wore under their dresses, to protect themselves from blows.
