7 Positions in 2 Hours, 2013
Role Reversal Rehearsal was a study of the gender dynamics of childbirth. The film, made with Abbe Leigh Fletcher, shows a man and woman practicing common birthing positions, but with the roles reversed. During the making of the film, it became apparent that the creative process was a more interesting subject than our choreographed performance. The narrative drawing 7 Positions in 2 Hours documents the complex networks, favours, planning and support systems that are required when creating artwork as a parent of small children. Making the film was made possible by working collectively with a network of other artists and parents. See www.mamsie.bbk.ac.uk/visual_section_index.html for a review by Rebecca Baillie.
