Sherman Theatre, Cardiff asked me to make a banner with its communities for Refugee Week 2022. The botanical theme of the banner is inspired by Refugee Week's theme of healing. All of the plants depicted are associated with healing, peace and sanctuary across different cultures around the world. They include Aloe Vera, Yarrow, Queen Anne's Lace (Wild Carrot), Olive, Mistletoe, White Heather and Tulip. The smiles symbolise a spirit of openness and welcome. And finally, contributors have added words of welcome, greeting, healing, and being at peace with oneself in different languages.
